Who is TwistyBakes?

I’m just a home baker with a 70cm X 50cm workspace and a counter-top oven.

I was born in the UK, adopted by Singapore and currently living in Hong Kong. I love food and learned to cook to feed that addiction.

I’ve made bread occasionally, memorably “Twisty’s Bloomers” based on a simple Paul Hollywood recipe. My motivation was to achieve the perfect bacon sandwich bread.

Christmas 2019 I made my first sourdough starter with hopes of entering the world of artisanal bread-making. Turns out I am less an artisan and more of a, well, granny in the kitchen.

But I like trying. This blog is just to record my attempts, in the hope that others will learn from my mistakes.
